What is JavaScript?

JavaScript was invented by Netscape Communications as a way to give a user more interactivity with web pages. With JavaScript, a web page's images or data can change just by the user moving the cursor around on the page.

On our site, JavaScript lets you tell the web pages what you want. Without it, the site is static and dead.

Is JavaScript Dangerous?

This is like asking "Is a doorknob dangerous?". It can be, if used destructively, but in the vast majority of times, a doorknob is used simply to open a door.

JavaScript generally is extremely helpful to users. However, it might be used by some advertisers to "track" users' Internet usage.

We do not use JavaScript in any way other than to help you navigate our site and in our calculators and converters.
