Bedroom Furniture: End Table

  • Bedroom Furniture: King Size Bed

    Here is a design for a bed and attached headboard for a king-size mattress with optional box spring. The structure is 3/4" plywood, covered with solid cherry to match our bedroom furniture set.

    This plan, part of our matching bedroom furniture series, is for a free standing European style wardrobe with shelves rather than a clothes rod. The space for the shelves could be easily converted to a hanging closet, if desired.

    Bench Seat

    Simple but very practical, this bench seat can be used as a footstool, spare bench for company and a storage box. With extra care in selecting the wood and finishing it, this piece of furniture can be an impressive addition to any decor.

    Bookcase 3'x5'

    These plans for a bookcase or storage shelves is a very basic project, kept simple for the beginning woodworker. The Instructions include the sizes of pieces to cut and how to layout the shelves and kick space of the bookcase.

    These plans are for persons with previous wood working experience, although I give basic instructions to complete this project and apply the stain or clear finish. The buffet is separate from the upper glass cabinet.

    This is a simple plan with instructions for the beginning woodworker based on my own design of tool box with provision for a handsaw, level and assorted tools.

    Child's Doll Cradle

    You'll need a jigsaw for this beginner woodworking project to cut the irregular shaped ends of the doll cradle. We made a template of the end full-size so you can print it off on your printer and cut around the shape.

    Child's Picnic Table

    Nothing makes a child's eyes light up quite so much as something made their size. These are plans for a do it yourself picnic table sized for a child of 3 to 8 years of age, designed for the beginning woodworker.

Tips are included for cutting identical pieces of wood and cutting the end of a bolt off without damaging the threads. This is a simple plan with instructions for the beginning woodworker.


    Child's Table and Chairs

    This is a simple plan with instructions for the beginning woodworker which includes how to build a tapering jig for the table saw.

    Child Bench Seat Toy Box

    The Child Bench Seat and Toy Box Plan is a simple dual-function design for the beginner home handyman. The bench seat can be built out of a single sheet of plywood. It helps keep the kids organized.

    Corner Cabinet

    These are plans for a face frame corner cabinet with tips on scribing the base and making the corner door. It can be used as a model to build any size face frame cabinet or corner cabinet module.

    The Instructions discuss cutting the parts, assembly and tips to scribe the base to a floor that is not level. Included are steps to attach the cabinet to the wall and the top to the cabinet; assembling the face frame and hanging the door.


    Corner Shelves

    How to build a set of corner or nic-nac shelves. This is a very basic project, kept simple for the beginning woodworker. The Instructions include very basic directions in making a simple shelf series as shown in the picture.

    Doghouse for Mid Size Dog

    This dog house plan has an offset door to keep the wind off your pet. It is insulated with styrofoam on a 2x2 wood frame and designed for a medium sized dog. The walls are covered to protect the insulation. The roof is removable for easy cleaning.

    Doghouse for Small Dog

    This is a simple plan with instructions for the beginning woodworker to make a very simple dog house from plywood for a small dog. Instructions include the layout of a simple compass.

    Gazebo 10'x10' With Skylight

    This plan is similar to the 12x12 Gazebo with skylight and is well suited to a roof over the hot tub yet able to watch the stars. The hard part is done for you, the calculation of the lengths of the hip, common and jack rafters. Enjoy!

    Gazebo 12'x12' With Skylight

    This is a bit of a twist on a gazebo, installing a skylight in its roof. The skylight can be switched for a little hip roof which adds a nice decorative feature. All rafter lengths are pre-calculated. Great for a hot tub or barbecue and chairs.

    Gazebo Octagon 12'

    A plan for a 12' octagon shaped gazebo with an 8' deck extended in front. The design includes fly screening on the inside of the windows and doors, as well as benches around the perimeter on the inside. All the rafters are pre-calculated for you.

    Lazy Susan

    I made one of these for playing Scrabble® to turn the board to face the player. This lazy susan can, of course, be applied to a number of different applications: on a large dining room table, on the bottom of an upright spice rack, etc.

    Mission Entertainment Center

    Outboard Motor Stand

    Here is a handy project to build to store and move your kicker motor around during the off season. This one is based off my own Honda 7.5.

    This plan gives a lean-to patio roof cover that is supported by the house with a ledger and at the opposite side with posts and beam. It is protected from the weather by metal roofing, ideal for a very sunny area.

    Picnic Table

    Wishing Well

    This wishing well will look good over the well casing or in the front yard. Put a plastic pot in the wooden bucket, fill with flowers and enjoy your creation. The crank actually works to lift the bucket up and down and lock it into position.
